Mitigation and adaptation to climate change

A key priority for the Chiefs of Ontario’s Environment Team is advocating for First Nations self-determination over climate initiatives. Our goal is to advance First Nations’ priorities at the international, national and provincial levels by supporting their capacity and giving them greater access to decision-making spaces. This includes First Nations capacity to respond to a changing environment, where there is increased frequency and severity of emergency and disaster events.
